Prior to founding the firm, Alex held investment and asset management roles with Aegon Asset Management, Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation, and Unico Properties, supporting more than $2 billion of real estate investments and development initiatives across acquisitions, asset management, development, capital markets, and portfolio management.
Alex is a CFA Charterholder and former LEED AP with a degree in Economics and a graduate background in Urban Planning. Before entering institutional real estate investment, he worked in economic and demographic analysis for local and regional governments, applying quantitative methods and GIS to support planning initiatives. This analytical foundation continues to influence Alex’s approach to investment analysis and is reflected in the philosophy of InstitutionalModels™: complex investments do not require complex user experiences. Although the firm regularly supports sophisticated investments involving layered capital structures, promotes, phased development programs, and advanced scenario analysis, every deliverable is designed to be intuitive, transparent, and easy to adopt across an organization.
